My last name before marriage was Leonard. Here are the five Leonard sisters. You can tell from the calendar on the wall that this is from 1986. That was just 11 years after I filmed the Sloopy dance. There are lots of online photos of me at Gazzarri’s club on the Sunset Strip, and doing the Sloopy dance, and recent photos. But not all that many from in between. Can you identify me in the picture? PS…look for the shiny earring.

I performed my now famous "Sloopy Girl" dance in 1975. At the time, Rick Derringer, previously the front man for the McCoys who'd had the hit with the tune, was re-releasing "Hang On Sloopy" ten years after it had topped the pop charts. It was nearly 40 years later that by happenstance I finally saw my dance appear on YouTube. Since it has been on social media, the Sloopy dance video has been viewed more than 200 million times. I live in Tennessee these days and I look forward to communicating with my friends and fans by way of this website and at my "Sloopy Girl" YouTube channel.

  1. Hang on Sloppy is one of my most favorite songs!!!! I can’t believe how you were able to dance like you did in that video. I always wanted to move my hips and dance that fast but never could. I love that video showing how natural you looked back then!!! You depicted how women in general looked more natural back then!!!! I hope life is treating you good. Take care!!! <3
